Fr. Mike is a priest with the congregation of the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales. Born in Toledo, OH, Fr. Mike attended St. Francis de Sales School and DeSales University (Center Valley, PA) where he majored in Spanish and was certified as a K-12 teacher. Following graduation, he entered the Oblates in 2003 and moved to Toronto and studied theology at the University of St. Michael’s College where, in 2009, he earned a Master of Divinity degree and was ordained a priest.
Following ordination, Fr. Mike served as a Spanish and theology teacher at St. Francis de Sales School in Toledo from 2009-2011. In 2011 he became a member of the Leadership Team of the Toledo-Detroit Province of the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales and continues to serve the Oblates as a member of this team to this day. In 2012 he entered formation ministry for the Oblates and currently serves as the Vocation Director of the Toledo-Detroit Province and the Novice Director of the North American Provinces of the Oblates. In 2018 he earned a Doctorate in Ministry from the Catholic University of America (Washington, DC) in the area of adult spirituality and vocational discernment and has given numerous retreats and parish missions throughout the United States about the spirituality of St. Francis de Sales (known as Salesian spirituality.)
Fr. Mike has been a part of the Adrian Catholic community since 2007 when he was assigned to then St. Mary of Good Counsel Parish to work in Hispanic and migrant ministry. Following ordination in 2009, he returned to Holy Family each weekend to celebrate the 11:45am bilingual Mass and, in 2016 returned to Adrian to live in residence while finishing his doctoral dissertation. He is very excited to return now to Holy Family as pastor and is happy to be “loving life and living Jesus” once more here with everyone in Adrian.
